Solitaire Namibia

Solitaire is a small settlement in the Khomas Region in central Namibia, close to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. It currently has the only petrol station, bakery, café, and general shop between the dunes at Sossusvlei and the coast at Walvis Bay, as well as on the way to the capital, Windhoek. Solitaire is part of the Windhoek Rural electoral constituency. Solitaire is known in the Netherlands because of the book of the same name by Dutch author Ton van der Lee, which describes his time living there.
